Communication
Communication between physicians and nurses
is a critical component to efficient and safe
patient care. CMR greatly enhances the communication among clinicians as expressed
by the nurses currently using CMR in their Emergency Departments. This has been accomplished by the use of the flagging system on the patient “White Board”. Physicians and nurses can now monitor the flow of patients in
and out of the Emergency Department by simply glancing at the white board.
Significant Improvement
Physicians responsible for their own billing have seen a significant increase in charge capture due to the prompts and comprehensive documentation produced when utilizing CMR. The charge capture is 100% auditable and can be tailored to the physician’s specific charge master. Again, this significantly improves compliance, core measure reporting, enhances patient care and reduces Professional Liability Risk. CMR also provides data capture to create reports on individual physician productivity and utilization. This greatly assists the ED Medical director in identifying areas of improvement opportunity. CMR creates a healthcare culture that is connected and comprehensive.
Patient Charting
Charting should not be an obstruction to the practice of medicine…it should be user friendly, reduce effort and facilitate patient care. CMR research shows that ED physicians want a chart that requires minimal input and produces maximum output and improved outcomes. It should provide data, prompts, and any and all forms, immediately. CMR has the ability based on system prompts to ensure documentation meets the requirements by Joint Commission, CMS and third party payers. “Best Practice Patterns” and “Clinical Pathways” are provided within the application and are facility specific. This significantly improves compliance, improves core measure reporting, enhances patient care and reduces Professional Liability Risk. Facility specific clinical pathways have allowed some client hospitals to begin implementation of disease management tools resulting in improved quality of care.
